Is my donation regular or one-off?

When using Donr's digital fundraising solutions, our charity partners have the option to ask you – their supporters – to commit to a monthly donation to their cause.

This can happen in one of two ways: either the charity will set up a Text Giving campaign to take regular donations and promote it as such or they'll set up a Text Giving campaign to take one-off donations and ask supporters who donate to then sign up to a regular donation.

To make a regular donation from the outset, you'll be asked to text a certain word to a certain shortcode phone number, then you'll receive a bounce-back text message asking you to confirm your monthly donation of £X by replying YES. If you do not reply YES, we will not charge you for your initial donation, nor will we set up a regular monthly donation from your mobile phone. However, your mobile network may still charge you for the cost of sending the text message.

If you've made a one-off donation via text, you may receive a bounce-back asking you to reply YES to set up a regular donation of a certain amount. If you would like to do so, reply YES, and that will be your regular donation set up, if you would prefer not to do so, simply do not reply to the follow-up text message.
