Some charities ask for a monthly donation instead of, or as well as, a one-off gift. The charity's poster or advert tells you which it's asking for. A monthly donation starts in one of two ways.
Monthly from the start
- You text the charity's keyword to its short number.
- We text you back asking you to confirm a monthly donation of the amount shown.
- Reply YES to start it.
If you don't reply YES, you won't be charged a donation and no monthly donation is set up. Your network may still charge you for the text you sent.
After a one-off donation
After you give once by text, the charity may send you a text asking if you'd like to give a set amount each month. Reply YES to start. If you'd rather not, don't reply.
