Yes. You can make a QR code for any text giving campaign in the dashboard. When a supporter scans it, their messaging app opens with your shortcode and keyword already filled in. They just press send. This helps avoid typing mistakes.
Each QR code gives one fixed whole-pound amount, from £1 to £20.
Make a QR code
- Go to Fundraise > Text giving and select Manage next to the campaign.
- Open the QRCode Generator tab. The Keyword and Shortcode are filled in for you.
- Under Select Amount, choose how much supporters will give when they scan. This can be your campaign's default amount or any whole-pound amount from £1 to £20.
- Select Generate. The QR code opens in a window. Right-click it (or press and hold on a phone or tablet) to save the image.
If your campaign lets supporters choose the amount (no default), there's no default option in Select Amount. Choose the amount you want the QR code to give.
Marketing consent campaigns
A One-off donations with marketing consent campaign has two keywords: one to give and opt in to hearing from you (for example, DONR), and one to give and opt out (DONRNOINFO). See how to collect marketing consent with text giving.
Make two QR codes, one for each keyword. Choose the keyword from the Keyword list on the QRCode Generator tab. Show both QR codes on your materials, and say clearly which one opts in and which one opts out.
